8 MM 25 MP High-Resolution Machine Vision Lens for Large-Format C-Mount Cameras

Kyptec Automation® offers an 8 MM 25 Megapixel Machine Vision Lens developed for high-resolution industrial imaging systems that require a very short focal length together with large-format sensor coverage. Positioned within the 25 MP lens series, this C-mount optic provides an F2.8–22 aperture range and is designed for demanding camera systems where broad scene coverage must be achieved without giving up optical resolving capability.

The 8 MM focal length provides the widest angular field among the 25 MP lenses in this product family. When sensor size and working distance remain unchanged, reducing focal length increases the amount of the object scene projected onto the sensor. This can be particularly important when mechanical restrictions prevent the camera from being moved farther away while a large field of view must still be captured.

High-resolution imaging at 25 megapixels places considerable demands on the optical system. A dense camera sensor can only record detail that has first been transferred through the lens with sufficient contrast and spatial resolution. For this reason, optical resolving capability is as important as the camera's pixel count when designing a high-detail machine vision system.

The broad F2.8–22 aperture adjustment provides considerable control over exposure and depth of field. Wider aperture settings increase light throughput, while stopping down can extend the range over which objects remain acceptably focused when sufficient illumination is available.
